Smoke test it and then check injectors/coils idk why you would start changing random parts

Clean vanos solenoids, vanos filters on the pass.side of the block, program injector flow values, relearn the throttle position, if you gapped your plugs maybe you damaged the tips. No money needed

it's better to replace the valve cover. they tend to warp, break or fail

Rough idle on these cars is a nightmare. 1000 different reasons it might be doing that. The gasket alone wasn’t going to solve your problem. Need to replace the cover.
