Mișto video btw, keep up!!

Step back to 1200 BC, where the legendary city of Troy stood in what’s now northwestern Turkey, near the Dardanelles strait. Picture this: massive sloping walls of limestone and mudbrick, 20 feet high and 15 feet thick, built to withstand a decade-long siege during the Trojan War. Archaeologists call this layer Troy VIIa—proof this wasn’t just a myth! The real Troy was a thriving Bronze Age hub, trading olive oil, pottery, and textiles across the Aegean Sea. Its citadel housed King Priam’s palace, while the lower city buzzed with merchants, farmers, and warriors gearing up for battle. Historical fact: the Trojan War, immortalized in Homer’s Iliad, might’ve been sparked by trade disputes or a power struggle, not just Helen’s face! The Mycenaeans—those fierce Greeks—brought warships and chariots, clashing with Trojan defenders in bronze armor and horsehair-plumed helmets. Excavations at Hisarlık (Troy’s modern site) uncovered arrowheads, burnt ruins, and signs of a violent end around 1200 BC, matching the war’s timeline. The plain outside the city? A graveyard of smashed chariots and trampled fields, with the salty sea air mixing with smoke from enemy camps. Troy’s vibe was gritty yet grand—mudbrick homes with rooftop hearths, women weaving linen dyed with madder root, and blacksmiths forging spears as the siege tightened. The Trojans fought hard, but history (and maybe a sneaky wooden horse) sealed their fate. This is ancient Anatolia at its rawest—power, pride, and a fall that echoed through time! #TrojanWar #AncientHistory #Troy1200BC #BronzeAge #HistoryUncovered #ArchaeologyFinds #IliadVibes #AncientTurkey #HistoryTok #EpicBattles #MythVsReality #HisarlikTroy #AncientWarriors #HistoryLovers
