I have owned 3 generations of Tacomas and 3 generations of 4Runners. My 4th gen Tacoma has the best torque and smoothest driving of any of those. 10 years from now everyone will talk about how great they are and how many miles they have on them. Toyota has always backed their product and fixed issues on new gen models. The higher torque in the 4th gen is a completely different driving experience.
