Males lions are twice as big as females and have their assigned role in the pride. They will sometimes join the hunts if they are needed to help bring down big prey. Females are stealthier and have more endurance for the chase. They also tend to stay in their pack of birth for life whereas males are transient. This means females hunt together with the same lionesses their whole life so are able to perfect teamwork.

Remember that male lions will often wander by themselves or in team groups of 3 when they are growing up and don’t have a pride of their own yet. So ofc they CAN hunt
