@devonrodriguezart: Painting the visionary Chef Carlos Portela as part of my “Boricua Portraits” series with @DiscoverPuertoRico was an incredible honor. He’s a trailblazer in Puerto Rico’s cuisine—an artisan of food who’s been cooking since he was just 16. What amazes me most is his talent for improvisation. Every visit to his restaurant, @orujotaller, is an adventure; you never know what you’ll get, but it’s always extraordinary. Many of the ingredients he uses are inspired by Puerto Rico’s Taíno heritage, reflecting the Island’s rich history.
