Irn Bru Glazed Ham Bring a touch of Scottish to your festive ham 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 I love the flavour this adds to the gammon joint - and I serve mine with mixed greens, homemade chips and bread sauce 👀 love it or hate it? Ingredients 1.5kg (approx) unsmoked gammon joint 2L @IRN-BRU squeeze lemon juice Method 1. Add gammon joint and Irn Bru to a pot (ideally it should be totally covered, but top up with water if required) 2. Bring to the boil, then reduce to a gentle simmer 3. Cook the gammon joint for approx. 20 minutes per 450g or until the meat is tender. I would encourage the use of a meat thermometer (click on my Amazon links highlight to see the one I use that cost me 6 quid) as I cooked the meat until it was around 60-65C then finish it off in the oven/airfryer with the glaze. A gGammon joint is a really lean piece of meat, so it can dry out quite easily once overcooked. 4. Remove the gammon from the pot and remove the skin - ensuring to leave a layer of fat underneath. Cut a criss-cross pattern in the fat as this will help the glaze crust up in the cracks.. 5. Once the gammon has been removed from the pot, s 6. queeze a little lemon into the pot of irn bru and s 7. tart boiling ittover irn bru in the pot until the volume has it’s reduced down tointo approx 150-200ml volume (essentially concentrated irn bru and sugar). 11. Brush the fat of the gammon with the concentrated liquid then either airfry at 20190C for approx 10 minutes or oven bake at 200C for 15 minutes #irnbru #festiveham #gammonjoint #gammon #christmasfood
