It’s a clever idea. However, I recently flew with Jetstar, and as we were boarding, they went around with scales to weigh everyone’s carry-on luggage. People were scrambling to put on extra layers of clothing to reduce the weight.

I’ve got a hack as well if you travel with a laptop and don’t want that to be included in the weight: there’s a laptop case from Amazon that looks like a pillow you’re just using to rest on the plane

I have my entire carry on suitcase to someone in line and just told the desk I didn't have a carry on so they couldn't weigh it 😅
