I had to go to the ER I didn’t have a carte vitale yet and I paid under 200€… paying full price… it’s insane, they easily would have been $4000 in the US

My son had a medical emergency while we were in Paris. We have Tricare insurance. We paid $46 for an Ambulance and ER visit. Vive La France!

Polish ambulance crew laughed at me when I asked them how much the invoice will be. I was totally sick but was freaking out about the ambulance invoice. It was zero. No cost.

And we still pay more per capita than anyone else, almost twice what the next more costly country pays. We pay 12k per capita per year. Germany 7k.
