My mom is similar in ways and I’m learning that my voice is valid. She blamed me for what my father did to me as a child. It’s weird knowing people will believe my mother before me.

this pretty well sums up my childrens' father, so I can't see why a mother couldn't have similar behaviour. He was jealous of our first child taking my attention away from him, so groomed our second child as his favourite, ignoring children 1 and 3. He would leave the eldest at daycare saying he forgot about them, locked her in the house with acute delirium from hepatic encephalopathy and innumerable other things. I now have sole custody of all 3 kids because he's "prioritised himself for once" and moved across the country after 2 kids went no contact with him 🙄
