In Missouri we do Tuesday-Friday 7:45-3:30. It been like this for years and it works great. Teachers work two Monday a month.

Longer days are stealing time, though. I still work 180 days, but longer each day. it is frustrating.

My district did this in Northern AZ. It started my 2nd yr, school M-Th, days were extended an extra 45 minutes. No school for kids OR teachers on Fridays. It was to help w/ appointments. ❤❤️❤️it!!!

But doesn’t this mean teachers are working more than their required hours….because they are teaching that extra hour and a half a day PLUS they are working that extra planning day.

I never got an extra day off and we went to school for 8 hours and I’m doing fine and so is all my classmates so I think this isn’t really helping the kids

This is our 4 yr to do a 4 day week. Students Mon-Thurs. 7:40-3. Friday is take home work for kids prep for teachers. We do have 1 fri. a month kids can come for extra help.

I volunteer weekly to prep what I can for the teachers. copies, bind, cut, etc.
