in the UK every level crossing has a phone with a direct link to the railway signal box. If you are slow heavy or oversize you must stop & call before. They will then tell you wether it's safe to X.

Why do they attempt these crossings unless they are sure, with all certainty, they can cross without incident? Trains should be notified and stopped before any oversized load crossing also!

There’s simply no cure for stupidity, as seen in this video above. With today’s technology, this train could have been stopped in time.

there is a phone on the track side. why did they not phone and let the dispatcher know of the truck stuck on the railroad tracks. they would have alerted the train to stop.

as a 30yrs experience over the road truck driver it the fault of the driver and the pilot driver & they must stop before the rail track or move all vehicles out of the way &keep it moving clear

Yeah that company that was on the railroad stopped is gonna have one big expense, also driver of truck may take the downfall for the loss of life . Never cross a track if you can’t clear it

A train traveling at 50 mph typically takes around a mile and a half (approximately 8,000 feet) to come to a complete stop, due to the large weight of the train and its relatively slow deceleration

trailers have low clearance for heavy haul setups. the arch from tracks being higher is enough to get hung up on. permits don't account for this. driver and company need to be better trained. but that's hard with all permits and new routes.

It’s crazy how long those train carts kept moving after they derailed. That’s crazy!!!! (I know it’s obvious but crazy to see the momentum)

Do these people not plan their loads, do Rec runs, check train timetables etc. seems pretty amateur to be stuck and taken out by a train
