I just came across this. Only 60,000 miles on my 2018 Jeep compass and it’s had so many problems. I’m thinking about trading it in. This car is a nightmare.

Happened to me and my dad figured out that the second battery I think it’s called auxiliary, it was dead and needed to be changed.Now it works great.

Absolutely! I’ve taken it in 10+ times for the electrical issues- same thing every time. It’s a wiring connection issue and it’s beyond scary when it happens.

Yeah, my '18 Compass did the same thing—jerking, all the dash lights on. It wouldn't turn off, and yeah, I was pushing the button; maybe it took 2 to 5 minutes to turn off, and then it wouldn't turn on. But I noticed that when the transmission temperature got to 230°F, it would do that. I took it to several mechanics and electromechanis ; all gave me a different diagnosis, but all said the same thing: I need to bring it in with the check engine light on because, after a while, the vehicle would operate fine for a week or two, then the problem would recur. So I finally went to a Jeep dealership, and they told me it's the start button. It will lose communication with the module and get crazy like that. It's been 5 months now without any issues

They have oil leaks and give no notification!!!! Check your oil!! You will blow your engine up! This is a known defect but they are not making it a recall.

I have a ‘19 compass and I’ve had something similar happen a few times where if I was stopped at a redlight and went to start driving again it would shut off and I’d have to put it in park, off, on &

I have a 18 Compass..did anyone have this issue “stop safely vehicle will shut off soon”? Diagnostic test gave a P2AF5, car never shuts off, didn’t drive it for a day now it’s dead, mechanic Friday but not sure what’s wrong, any help appreciated thanks! I hope your car is ok now ❤
