Love the Ramsey show but the view on credit scores is outdated. The world runs on it. Most apartments REQUIRE a minimum score and the ones that don’t you don’t wanna be in

In the Netherlands we don't have a credit score. Just an institution that registers all your debt. No registration = no debt. It's insane that you need debt first just to 'prove' you can handle it.

My very first apartment out of college required both a minimum credit score and proof of income. You need more than just money to get some things.

You HAVE to have a credit score to rent or buy a house, car, etc. Not many people can pay cash for those things

I don’t exactly agree. At some point you’ll need your credit to buy a house, rent and insurance agencies use it.

I told my son at 13 that whatever he saved (bday$, etc) now til he had his license we would match for a car. He saved $3800!🤯I “sold” him my car (6yr old, 40kmiles/new. Put that $ in savings for latr

To even get the bare minimum, basic apartment they still require a good credit score/record to obtain that apartment. The world is evolving and we must adapt to the technology bc they run off of it

Learning how to manage money is essential. Maybe get a charge card that has to be cleared every month as credit cards offer better consumer protection

My thing with credit cards and credit. Two reasons for it. Extra Emergency funds, or the less smart thing to do, advanced payment. Using the card to buy something today when you get paid tomorrow.

I put my son as an AU on my credit card at 15. So by 18, he’ll have credit built by 18. However, he has a huge nest egg & trust built since birth. He’ll be 18 in February. He won’t need a CS or credit
