I've always felt that the idea that mammals being herbivores was silly. mammals need protein to grow and as far as I know there's not enough protein in any plant to sustain one.

Your point about Pandas is interesting because I believe they are the ONLY herbivore touted as having a 99% plant based diet, suggesting they don't even eat bugs. You might be on to something.
