dissolved or mechanically processed into a pulp. they typically use something like sodium hydroxide which is basically just lye. literally every material has a chemical compound so it's just fear mongering

She's right. The amount of processing that has to be done to bamboo to make it soft.. it product at the end is SO far removed from its original state, it's not even bamboo anymore.
