Hey Beautiful❤️ People see the clear skin and think I’m okay. But they don’t see the years I spent hiding. The version of me that avoided mirrors, ducked photos, and mentally prepared for every interaction just in case someone brought up my acne. I lived with the fear of being seen, and the shame that society teaches us to feel for simply having real, textured skin. Acne changed me. Not just my face, it shaped how I moved through the world, how I protected myself, how I read people’s reactions. And now that my skin is clearer, those patterns don’t just disappear. I still carry that history. I still notice when people don’t mention my skin anymore, how different it feels to be treated with kindness I always deserved. And even though the physical breakouts have faded, the mental ones sometimes linger. There’s healing that happens after the skin clears. Healing that’s not often talked about. But I want you to know, I didn’t wait to love myself. I didn’t wait for my skin to be perfect to feel worthy. Through all the pain, I chose to embrace the version of me that showed up anyway. The version of me that had acne and confidence, that faced the world with courage even when it was hard. And I still love her. Just as much as I love the me that exists now. If you’re going through it, if you feel tired, unseen, or like your skin is defining your worth please know that : You are not alone. Your feelings are valid. You deserve to be seen, to be treated with care, and to feel good in your own skin. Healing is not just physical and you’re allowed to take your time. #acneawareness #mentalhealthmatters #emotionalscars #acne #acnejourney #yourenotalone #acnepositivity #skinhealing #selflovejourney❤️ #skin #skinpositivity #acnecommunity #skincarecommunity #acnescars #skinconfidence #fyp #explore #simphiweemb #realskinrealstories
