@sabsweets: Gingerbread Cookies 🧸🍪✨ recipe below 👇🏼 Ingredients 🧈 For the Cookies: 115g butter, softened 50g brown sugar 30g powdered sugar 1 egg 1 pinch salt 220g all-purpose flour 1 tsp baking soda 2 tbsp honey Spices: 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp nutmeg, 1/4 tsp cloves, 1/4 tsp cardamom, a pinch of salt For the Royal Icing: 100g powdered sugar 20g water (approximately) Instructions 📝 In a bowl or the bowl of your stand mixer, combine the flour, brown sugar, white sugar, salt, baking soda, and spices. Mix well. Create a well in the center, then add the egg and honey. Knead the dough for a few minutes by hand or using a stand mixer. Add the softened butter and knead again until you form a smooth ball of dough. Be careful not to over-knead to avoid overheating the dough! Lightly flour your work surface, roll out the dough slightly, and wrap it in plastic wrap. Cover and refrigerate for about 1 hour. Flour your work surface again, then roll out the dough evenly. Using a cookie cutter, shape your gingerbread men and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 180°C (356°F) for about 10 minutes, or until the cookies are golden but not too dark. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool completely. Decorate them with royal icing for the final touch: Mix powdered sugar and water (or use lemon juice instead). If the icing is too runny, add more powdered sugar; if it’s too thick, add more water.
