Starting a campaign as a full on kaiju disaster film, where you have to flee or die is, in fact, the perfect way to incorporate a tarrasque. I like twisting the tavern trope with the JP water cup.

You know, once a player encounters it they have to make a will saving throw. If they fail, they run and can never bring themselves to face it again. It's a core part of thst monster.

we have a table of 6-12power gamers per session. a wwz/attack on titan campaign was the campaign to put everyone back in check. so many dead pcs

My favorite thing I've ever done in one of my games is when my players got a lil too comfortable and started talking about how easy it was, I introduced a *dead* Tarrasque

honestly I love the idea of low level PCs in general because it's so much easier to balance a campaign around. dangerous NPCs actually feel dangerous as opposed to when you're level 5+

literally our 2nd official session. We're level 3, and a terrasque attacks the city we're in.... 3/5 people die, including me (trying to save one of the players)
