As a host, we ask to put the trash in the bin and put it outside on the night before pickup. We also ask to strip the beds and start dishwasher. Is that too much?

I always include how reasonable or insane the check out instructions are with my review! It makes a big difference. Happy to start the dishwasher and take out trash, but I’m not vacuuming your house.

We don’t even have a cleaning fee on our Airbnb and we don’t even ask our guest to do anything and more times than not our guests start the laundry strip the beds and all that and we don’t even ask

We had to vacuum, clean the kitchen, run AND UNLOAD the dishwasher, wash all the sheets and towels and STILL had to pay $75 cleaning fee. Turned me off of Airbnb for months.

That’s why I never use airb&b. I don’t want to do laundry or take the trash out. I’m on vacation to relax, not clean.

Maybe if it’s actively snowing you need to shovel on arrival. Taking trash out is normal for my stays but I’m not cleaning anyone’s oven. I barely clean my own.

When I cleaned for an Airbnb we only had 4 checkout instructions: 1) Leave beds unmade. 2) Load dishwasher. 3)Leave towels in bathroom. 4)Leave everything else to us and enjoy your morning.

When I went to Florida over summer my air bnb had me do most of the cleaning and if I didn’t I would be charged another $150. There was already a $165 cleaning fee. I thought it was weird.
