forget small creatures with bows, Giants and the like must be horrifically deadly archers

I love how you are a reverse of Neil Degrass Tyson, "it wouldnt work they are too small"
you "they hide and use magic so it works despite limitation I mentioned"

about to try fae siege tactics next session. building simple machines from vines/trees etc to build leverage points that the tiny/small can easily work while doing respectable damage

But standard role-playing game rules these creatures have the same strength as a human. So the bow well smaller and more compact would we lease as much or more force?

Always makes me think of the giant archers in Game of Thrones, shooting bows like they’re ballistae.

does that mean goliaths, orcs and giants could be really dangerous cos they can use really big bows?

I haven’t really touched my bows since my kids were born 19 years ago but watching your videos had me digging them out of my parents garage when I went back for Christmas

Yay! A practical demonstration of Fantasy Physics! Can you scale even smaller? Like if they were mouse-sized, or even bug-sized? This would probably require rethinking materials too.

I have a question. would if the smaller bow would be made up from less flexaple material so when it is released even if it is not train so far back would deliver the same force.(I know it would.

I think this is my favorite video I've seen from you, I like how you applied what exists within the fantasy itself to give reasoning for why it would work!

The one time I ever tried archery was at camp, and I ended up with a shaft of feathers lodged in my index finger because I forgot to lift it when I shot the arrow. I’m not meant for combat.

would you please consider painting the arrows you use for these videos blue or something? 🙏 bc it's really hard to see where they land and you're trying to make a point about strength 🥲

Question: Fairies are often depicted using their bow flying or hovering in the air while shooting. What impact would it have to not have the ground under your feed for resistance? And how do you do

I like to imagine that they have better muscle density and can use real heavy bows even if they’re smaller

Furthermore, we can assume that they usually fight eachother, rarely going against larger foes. This means that the entire scale of the battle is downsized, the enemies and distances are smaller too

what about crossbows? would making a smaller crossbow limit it in the same way as a bow or could you get it a higher draw strength with the winch mechanism?
