the most important reason why find traps is useless: every party comes with a patented trap detector in the form of their paladin. or barbarian, or fighter, annoyingly edgy rogue

Even in the 2024, i still don’t like how Find Traps works. I’ve always had it be active for 8 hours or until you locate 4 traps, with increasing amounts with higher spell levels.

And an investigation/perception check is BETTER because it can see natural hazards that don't intend to harm but can certainly cause issues
