✨Damn Good Bowls - Episode 4: Lemongrass Chicken I never really ate lemongrass chicken growing up— it was mostly just lemongrass pork or beef. When I got to college, I became unhealthily (lol ironic) health conscious and started demonizing white rice and Asian food because I thought it had too many carbs, sugar, salt, fat and preservatives. When I wanted to eat ‘clean,’ I only cooked plain American food and ate what every health fitness person was eating at the time— chicken breast and broccoli. I depended on Mrs Dash seasoning to give my food some “flavor” since I feared using salt, thinking it would make me bloated and increase my blood pressure. As I started to heal my relationship with food, I realized I could eat the foods I loved growing up and feel guilt-free doing it, just by swapping out some of the ingredients: fatty pork for leaner chicken, carbs with more fiber, and less processed sugar.
