You should just block that card in your CMS. It's standard practice for a reason. They're more likely to initiate again, not even worth your time. It usually better to not fight the chargeback

On the banking side you have 60 calendar days to dispute so if they do try this they can only go back 2 months.

Chargeback expert here, what did they file the cb as? I can let you know if it’s worth fighting or not. Unfortunately visa and mc will often side with the cardholder.

Ugh. We get auto-chargebacks if a chip isn’t used. The processor files automatically on behalf of the customer, problem is online bc a chip can’t be used. Toast offers no recourse for dispute smh.

Was it online or in person? My bank for some reason auto charges back if chip/tap wasn’t used if it’s with Toast. I ask online merch what their POS is for reasons.

Something we found out about is if a customer uses a VISA gift card and tips out the remaining balance to get rid of the card visa can dispute the amount and has 2 times to us.

Ugh I had to fight 29 disputes from one customer from our retail store once. We had him on camera, had a copy of his ID, & his signature on every purchase. We won all of the disputes but it was a pain
