I did it once … had to use the bathroom.. couldn’t get back into where I was … once the ball finally dropped I was 10 blocks away, in some bar, watching it on TV LOL .. horrible experience

I did this back in 1984. It was a blast !! We got there at 3pm and stood there in one spot until the ball dropped. No bathroom breaks - we just stood there talking and waiting. The second the ball dropped we all quietly walked back to our cars 😂

I visited NY in 2014, I waited 6 hours in the freezing cold just too witness the Tree Lighting Ceremony/ to hear Mariah Carey sing... it was NOT worth it 😅😂

if you stay at a hotel in time square they usually have space blocked off for guests staying there, i stayed at a marriott and went out 10 min before and saw the entire thing

I grew up in NY & only went once from the vantage point of the 30th floor of the Marriott Marquis. You'd never catch me wearing a diaper trapped in that crowd. My anxiety could never. 😏

as an Aussie I always thought the ball drop was a sudden drop at 12am. and to find out it slowly goes down as the time goes on. sounds like the most anti climactic experience ever.

This was on my bucket list to just see the ball drop. My husband got us a hotel right next to time square with a direct sight line to the ball 🥹 most magical weekend of my life 🫶🏻

I was invited to an office party in the Lids building top floor one year to watch the ball drop but we had to get there by Noon. I didn’t want to spend 12hours in an office so I didn’t go.
