@movability: 🤔 Why Are Your Legs in Pain? Neurological vs. Vascular Claudication 🤕 Does walking leave your legs aching or heavy? Two possible culprits are neurological claudication and vascular claudication. While they may feel similar, their causes and treatments are completely different. Here’s how to tell them apart: Neurological Claudication 🧠 • Cause: Spinal stenosis compresses nerves in the lower back. • Symptoms: Pain, heaviness, or tingling in the buttocks, thighs, or calves. The pain gets worse when standing tall or walking upright. • Relief: Sitting or bending forward (like leaning on a shopping cart) provides relief by opening up the spinal canal. Walking uphill often feels easier than flat walking. • Diagnosis: MRI, CT scans, or tests that reproduce symptoms when arching your back. Vascular Claudication 💉 • Cause: Peripheral arterial disease (PAD), where blocked arteries restrict blood flow to the muscles. • Symptoms: Cramping pain in the calves, thighs, or buttocks, triggered by activity. The pain comes on predictably after a set distance or time and eases with rest—no bending needed. • Other Signs: Cool skin, diminished pulses, or changes in skin color. • Diagnosis: Tests like Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) or Doppler ultrasound to measure blood flow. Key Differences • Neurological claudication: Pain is triggered by posture and improves with sitting or leaning forward. • Vascular claudication: Pain is caused by activity and improves simply by resting. Why It Matters Treatment depends on the root cause: • Neurological claudication might require physical therapy, decompression, or surgery. • Vascular claudication often needs lifestyle changes, medications, or vascular surgery. If walking is painful, don’t ignore it. Your body is trying to tell you something! Early diagnosis can help prevent complications and get you moving again. ✨ Your body doesn’t whisper without reason—are you listening? Leg pain that doesn’t go away at rest and keeps you up all night. What could this be? It was after gym and 2 hour walk. I do have endo and adenomyosis so wondering if to do with this? Thanks

I’ve been going to chiro for 3 weeks. The back of my upper thigh feels like it’s on absolute fire. I can’t even stand longer than 5 minutes. My chiro said something about it being mental from my brain. Been happening for 3 weeks now. I’m a stay at home mom and I can’t do much at all
