I have indoor/outdoor cats. They are microchip and have a collor with name tag on. They don't leave the property at all and they mostly spend indoors.

I’ll never understand being okay with unsupervised outdoor cats, my cats being in the patio for more than two seconds stresses me out I can’t imagine not having eyes on them at all times

honestly a cat that doesn’t get to roam freely outside can never be truly happy imo, they’re such primal animals. I think it’s evil to keep them inside only

Unless that is their primary vet they’re likely not going to call that random vet location. I wouldn’t keep him until you talk to his family directly. He may just be an escape artist.

I have a cat that goes outdoors and comes back an hour or so later… if someone stole her I would be devastated. Especially you knowing he has a home.

If he had a collar, I would assume he’s going back somewhere. If there’s no collar, after they lost him once then I think wait and see if they call the vet.
