Should be paid based on revenue the person / team brings . Also many female sports have shorter games , shorter seasons .many sports men played for a long time with min $ and worked hard to get it.

it's comes down to revenue. for example the AFLW is back stopped by the AFL revenue streams , mainly their gambling partnerships. The AFLW yields significant losses for the AFL and there is negative ROI. That should help people to understand how the decision must be made from a corporate perspective

Isn't the reason mens sports are paid more due to sponsorship and crowd size? it isn't men V women its just business mens sports attract more money as a business.

Ask yourself where does the money paid come from? Perhaps fair to base pay on % of the payment pool based on performance, but all 20 players can’t have $1k if there is just $10k available in the pool.
