Join me as we learn about ✨Pivot Turns✨ - or “Pivot” for short! These give some of my beginner students a lot of grief and you are not alone! The general idea is you step forward onto one foot, then change weight into the other foot, which is also the direction you are turning. In example, a R Pivot means I step onto my R foot to start, but it’s a turn over my L shoulder because that’s the foot I change weight into - my L foot ends with the weight. By transferring weight into the ball of your foot to start (in this example, your L), it creates a “pivot point” for your foot before you set your heel down and allowing you to change direction before you commit to the weight change. Let me know what movements are giving you trouble and I’d love to break them down! 🥰🤩💛
