23&Me is more DNA based for you to learn about yourself biologically. Ancestry DNA will connect you with family members if they have done it as well.

I did familytreeDNA to be able to trace the Y chromosome. this is how I found out the family name. then I did ancestry to hone in on who it could be based on geography, timeline, etc.

you have to go with your heart. I have a sister that was adopted and she searched for a long time and found siblings from her birth mother. it has never changed the fact that she is my sister also.

I’d say leave it alone. At my mil’s funeral I met a birth child I never knew existed and she had never acknowledged. It was a lot to process. You never know what you might find out.

Use Ancestry, I found out last year that my dad is not my bio dad. Cousins on bio dad side reached out and I was finally told the truth at 46 years old.

Ancestry DNA. I had a distant cousin contact me after I took the test and I helped him find his birth mom. My grandmother’s sister had given him up for adoption. They met. ❤️

My dad found out who his bio dad was when I was 13. My gpa passed when I was 20. That side of the fam has nothing to do with any of us now. Depends on what you’re looking for. I had to get over that

I would absolutely do it! You deserve the opportunity to at least try to find out. I use ancestry and was able to find my adopted son’s mom for him. It can happen!
