Anyone complaining about this doesn’t understand that you want to cut down on car usage and increase metro usage. Better for the environment and saves time if done efficiently.

In a generic US city I could see the outrage but NYC has the most alternative transport options of any place in America. It’s a disincentive. Like charging for grocery bags.
