my nephew rarely ate, one day the whole family went out to eat and his Mom was pleading with him to try one bite, I said oh he can't he's not big enough to eat all that. He ate every damn bite!!! 🤣

💯 Also give them CHOICES! a choice for everything - just make up a second choice. Instead of “put your toys away” say “do you want to pick up your blocks or your cars first?” Works a lot

Ma’am!! I have never heard it phrased that way before and my almost 3 year old was sooooo proud he just picked up his toys, because he was ‘strong enough’ to do it. Omg thank you!!!

I feel like this is as much of a tricking the kid into doing the things as it is tricking the parent into inviting the kid to do more for themselves. cuz we forget 😅

This is good for self esteem too, and dealing with failure when they can’t do some things. But think how kind their inner voice will be if they grew up with “yes I *am* smart enough to…”
