I also heard they aren’t as sharp because they are basically a disposable tool, so they have to balance control and sharpness with cost and ease to mass produce

Someone said obsidian can split atoms, no, it can’t, nor molecules. It can however split cells as opposed to kinda “crushing” them to make incisions

they don't use obsidian, I believe sapphire scalpels are used for very fine surgical applications though

I dropped a scalpel In my thigh ouch it took 2 weeks to heal I worked in the printing industry and I only just changed the blade surgical grade fully felt like I got kicked in the thigh
