@coachjonnyfff: 🧑🧑🧒🧒 PARENTS! Does your child keep looking over at you on the sideline when they’re playing their match? It’s natural for children to seek reassurance from their parents, but it’s important to give them the confidence and space they need to trust their own instincts and make their own decisions on the pitch. Parents can help by: - Staying positive from the sidelines! This includes your body language too! - After every game, ask them “Did you have fun?” and avoid the “talk” on the car journey home, where you critique their performance. - Be their biggest cheerleader. Helping children build independence on the pitch is key to developing both their confidence and decision-making. Let’s empower our children to take ownership of their game! Follow @CoachJonnyFFF for more tips! 🟡 🔵 ⚪ #FootballFunFactory #CoachJonnyFFF
My boy constantly looks over at me after making a tackle, or winning the ball or scoring and he does this because he’s proud of himself and he looks over to see if I noticed

Not all true… some kids are actually checking to see If their parents are watching them. Some kids actually gets dissapointed If the parents are not paying attention to what they do.

I think the biggest problem in youth football is parents. We need to let kids play without spectators

What do you do if your phone child does this due to his personality! We let our son play freely as do his managers,he loves the games but is so anxious of making a mistake, it affects his performance

This is fair. Just want the best for them, you understand the coaches are volounteers, so feel like you need to do your bit. Killing them with kindness, I’m guilty of it.

My daughter is a GK she either looks over at me when she’s saved an epic goal because she’s proud and wants to make sure I saw or when she’s bored because the balls got nowhere near her 😂

What to do if child has suddenly stopped trying in matches? Brilliant in training & completely absent during match. So frustrating as just not showing what he can do in the game.

Totally untrue. My son is a goalie and after a good save he always look at us to celebrate with him, he’s 8, a child, who wants his parents involved in his success.
