That’s the 𝘣𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘮𝘶𝘮.⁣ ⁣ 💼 Land a job?⁣ Well, that’s what you were supposed to do, right?⁣ ⁣ 💍 Even marriage wasn’t something to be proud of — just another expectation to check off the list.⁣ ⁣ Because in many Asian households, achievement was just 𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘰𝘳.⁣ But if you 𝘧𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘵?⁣ Oh, you’d hear it. Loud and clear.⁣ ⁣ Now, as a coach for Asian women, I see how deep this mindset runs.⁣ Many of us grew up believing:⁣ ⁣ ➡️ “If it’s not perfect, it’s not worth doing.”⁣ ➡️ “If I’m struggling, I must be failing.”⁣ ➡️ “If I can’t get it right fast, I should just quit.”⁣ ⁣ This perfectionism becomes 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘺𝘴𝘪𝘴.⁣ And when the scale doesn’t move…⁣ When work gets busy…⁣ When stress piles up…⁣ We default to self-blame.⁣ To burnout.⁣ To self-sabotage.⁣ ⁣ Because we were taught that only 𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘸𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 is acceptable.⁣ ⁣ But here’s the truth:⁣ ⁣ 👉 Progress doesn’t have to be perfect.⁣ 👉 Taking care of yourself is not selfish.⁣ 👉 You deserve to be proud of yourself — even for the small wins.⁣ ⁣ You deserve to be 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥.⁣ ⁣ And you just have to start.⁣ And this time — not from a place of pressure.⁣ But from a place of self-respect.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #AsianCulture #FamilyExpectations #PerfectionistMindset #SelfSabotage #AllOrNothingMentality⁣
