Google California Department of insurance. they should have a complaint process and you don't need a lawyer from what I understand. you can call you can do stuff online

As a German this is so wild. My doctor decides if I need medicine. If I do, I go and get it. Yeah we have copay (5-10€, max 1% of your yearly income)

Who’s your insurance provider? 90% of claims are approved automatically… another 5% are upon appeal. I know it sucks. But advocate for yourself and don’t give up!! I just went through this.
