If your on a budget & it's your first time in Thailand then pre book everything & bring about $1000 for each week. That should make your holiday money be enough to enjoy yourself. If your drinking & partying with Thai ladies in mind then double it. Rule no 2 incase you need to get a travel card for emergency cash. if you need it you can withdraw it there

I took 3.1 for 2 people last year in Phuket and it just cut it. Going back next April and taking like 5 for 16 days. And that’s a nice holiday 👍
