ah yes cold solder joints. I hate crimp connectors but crimping is probably a better connection than this. you need get the wire hot enough to melt the solder to it not just melt the solder around it

I have these and have tried them for a while they go stale and break open not Worth the money and have to be stored in 65° or lower or they will shrink on there own

you want the kind with the no clean flux and you don't want to twist the wires together. keep the original lay and just put them next to each other
