Last weekend a bar did this to me for $60 which was fine but I was mad they took all that money when I ordered a $4 drink and couldn’t get it back for 24 hours.

always paid per drink at our favorite bar but always paid cash. also the BT got tipped something each order. might not have been a big amount each trip to bar.but i made sure they got something.

Costco gas station pre authorized $100 ok my debit card once when I literally only got $20 in gas. They held that authorization for so long too!

I once opened a tab and the pre auth was $300. My settled charge was like $12 and I didn't know until the next day the $300 still on hold. The bar wasn't open on Sun and Mon being a holiday. 🥺

In a society where you have to pay for your gas before you put it in your car it’s crazy this happens in bars in USA. Pay as you go only option.
