Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the final details of the deal were still being sorted out. Under the agreement, there will be a phased cadence, starting with a six-week halt in fighting. During that time, Hamas will release dozens of Israeli hostages in phases and Israel will release hundreds of Palestinians being held in Israel. The deal also opens negotiations to end the 15-month war that has devastated the Gaza Strip. The deal comes after weeks of negotiations brokered by Egyptian and Qatari mediators.
