When I do push downs or extensions I bring my elbows up before I push down, while also not moving my elbow past my waist,because i feel a better stretch. Am I doing to much or is this good?

It's definitely easier to keep the elbow joint adducted with a supinated grip biomechanically because of DRUJ and radiocarpal relationship.
