Recommendations are divided by area of the park to make it easy to plan your trip! 🥾BEST HIKES: North side: Tolmie Peak, Grand Park, and Fremont Lookout South side: Skyline Loop, Tipsoo & Dewey Lake, Pinnacle Peak, Naches Peak Loop, Silver Falls, and Bench & Snow Lakes 🎫PERMIT INFO: To enter the park, you need a pass - either a day pass or annual pass for Mount Rainier. If you are visiting multiple parks in a year, we recommend the $80 America the Beautiful Pass. Additionally, Mount Rainier requires a timed entry permits that can be purchased on recreation.gov. In 2024, these were required for the Paradise corridor (May 24th to September 2nd) and Sunrise corridor (July 3rd-September 2nd). You only need these between the hours of 7am-3pm so our biggest hack for visiting NP’s during permit season is visiting early before the permit window or later in the evening after the permit window. Rainier has yet to release permit windows for 2025 but this post will be updated when they release dates. 🏨WHERE TO STAY: North side: Enumclaw or Crystal Mountain..lodging is harder to find here but there are airbnbs and hotels to choose from. South side: Ashford or Packwood..there are a ton of airbnbs and boutique hotels to choose from. You can also stay in the park at Paradise Inn. 🌞WHEN TO VISIT: We typically say to avoid the winter. While you can get beautiful days, most of the time the mountain is socked in and trails are snow covered. For pristine, sunny hiking conditions with snow-free trails, visit from late July to early September. To see the changing fall colors, visit late September to late October. Any questions??
