HOW I MAKE FRIENDS IN TOKYO 🎌 (Law of attraction & manifesting but that’s a different convo 🤓) In my experience it’s really easy to make friends here but it always helps to have at least one friend in Tokyo so that it’s less daunting. I made most of my friends through other friends. E.g I make one friend, they introduce me to their friends who introduce me to theirs & so on. Most of my friends are either foreigners or Japanese people who grew up overseas but moved to Japan and I feel like bcz we moved to Tokyo for the same reason (never felt like we belonged in our hometown/always felt drawn to Japan) we already have something in common 🌟 BARS/CLUBS: I’ve met a lot of friends at bars (helps if you’re drunk too) literally just talk to them everyone is so friendly. Or even at family marts in Shibuya. 🌟 TIKTOK/SOCIAL MEDIA: I’m lucky to have a platform where whenever mutuals come to Tokyo we can hang out. But I remember back in 2022 when my account was still small I made a TikTok asking if anyone was in Tokyo and wanted to hang out, I had a lot of people reach out to me and met up with them and we are still friends till this day! Literally TikTok is amazing for bringing people together! I met my best friend @saki.pann on TikTok too! 🌟 FASHION WEEK: I love FW, not just for the fashion but the people you meet who are always so talented and creative. I met sm stylists, models, photographers, designers etc & it makes convos easier since you have common interests & it’s also a great way to network especially if you’re in the creative field 🌟 POP UP/EVENTS: There are always some sort of events or pop ups going on every week which is another great way to socialise and meet new people but these might be hard to find if you’re new to Tokyo. You will either get invited by the brand, friends, PR people If you want to make friends you have to put yourself out there even though it can be uncomfortable at first. Before moving to Japan I used to be quite shy and introverted but since moving I became more extroverted. I think meeting people with genuine intention and being your authentic self will just simply attract the people that are meant for you. Good Luck! ❤️‍🔥 #tokyo #makingfriends
