I’m not a straight natural but I don’t see anything wrong with it. U can be one and still take care of ur hair. The only reason im not one is bc i think coily hair fits my features perfectly

This isn’t a universal experience. When I get my hair straightened, I’m not stressed out about it. It is definitely easier as far as getting up without having to spend a bunch of time on your hair tho

in my personal experience, i’ve been wearing my natural curls since i was 9 y/o. i’m 21 now. it’s ok for people to want something different. i wouldn’t call myself a straight natural

i only started seeing the term straight naturals in the dry scalp/psoriasis community. which i also suffer from and truly makes sense bc it is sooo much harder/impossible to control w curls out

I think it usually comes from a place of frustration BUT with some people our hair genuinely takes better to heat 😭 my hair dries out so fast when it’s set in a curly state

It’s jealousy. Straight naturals usually have a length a natural-natural may never see without dreadlocking. It’s envy. It takes confidence to wear your hair however you want despite people like this

i used to be a straight natural and washing my hair and moisturizing it is 100x easier than going through the process of a silk press every wash day and avoiding places so my hair wouldn’t revert
