Why’sthe writing community fighting the inevitable so hard? AI is here to stay and it’s just the beginning. Better to use it as a tool, than fight it.

The Brutalist bums me out so much because the AI usage is so superfluous. The movie would have lost nothing by losing the AI stuff.

Could you ask AI to think of something no ones ever thought of before? I know nothing can kill it just curious

The Brutalist situation is incredibly overblown imo.

Chatgpt is really useful for coming up with new ideas. Because its generic, derivative suggestions are so bad that they make me angry and fire up my creativity just so I can tell it how bad it is.

I made a custom GPT for one of my scripts / had it review the whole thing and beat it out in a story circle, save the cat, and Sid field style. It did a bang up job.

I hate AI, but was sadly thrilled that ChatGPT is now mentioning my zombie novel when asked what the “best” zombie novels are. Lol.

So many writers have written original works, had their screenplays bought by studios, only for the films to never be produced. There’s NO shortage of writing ideas…

im did a screenwriting workshop and the lady leading it literally told us we should be using chatgpt to come up with character ideas 🥴

I think he’s wrong about AI being able to write good screenplays (for now), but he’s not necessarily wrong when he says that it can be incredibly effective when giving notes, compared to many readers

Right! My thought when reading that article was: ChatGPT would never produce something like Taxi Driver without a prompt like "Give me something like Taxi Driver." Ditto Pulp Fiction

I was asked to beta test an AI screenwriting program and I truly hate to say how impressed I was. That said, the program is designed to be a genuine aid in the writer process, almost like a co-writer

What’s the use case here, even? Like, who’s going to direct/produce “generic PTA movie” or “generic Tarantino movie”?

It’s really frustrating to me how many people still don’t understand how generative AI works and that it can literally only rehash it’s training data.

Even if you could predict box office results, I’d rather not see a movie that was driven in any significant way by whatever ai predicted would be a box office success
