nope I did that and new melling pump still pressure drops at every stop light but back up when driving

highly unlikely the pump failed. it's always the O ring on the oil pick up tube that gets old and worn allowing for low or no oil pressure.

I've changed out the oil pump after all that work and it still wasn't the problem it was a switch on the side which fixed my oil gauge

You should have replaced the cam plate while you were in there. It’ll blowout and the valvetrain won’t be lubricated but you’ll still see pressure on the gauge. A lot of LS cam failures because of this and nobody seems to know. Cam kits don’t even include the plate. Can’t fix it with silicone either

Always replace the pick up tube as they crack behind the mount bracket at weld and air rate oil causing premature oil pump failure

Just wrapping up the same job on a 08 5.3, looked like a headache at first to drop the front fix but wasnt bad. Gonna have it done tomorrow and aligned needs a rack to 🤣
