When I’m told to close my eyes and picture or imagine something I’m thinking abt it in my head but just not seeing it so like all the physical details or most I might know I just never saw them

as a kid I thought it was a big inside joke when the teacher told us to visualize something in our mind. I thought we all knew we couldn’t really imagine it but we played along 😭

What do you mean by see? I can conceptualize the crouton, reference the memory, I can fathom its dimensions, even texture, but i can’t “see” it in color or anything.

Sometimes I wonder if this whole thing is just a miscommunication. Cause I don’t think someone would classify me as having aphantasia but I don’t literally “see” something I recall. I can kinda see it

I have it. I can conceptualize what the crouton looks like but I can’t see anything. When I close my eyes everything is just black. Some people were asking about dreams. I dream normally and vividly.
