I’m a Tea Sommelier and this is week 6 of my cold brew tea series where I make a new cold brew every week this summer. This is a watermelon cold brew tea. I’m following my cold brew tea formula of 1 tea, plus 1 fruit plus 1 citrus plus 1 herb. I’m using English breakfast as my tea, watermelon as my fruit, lemon as my citrus, and mint as my herb. I’m using English breakfast tea, but you can use any black tea you have. For this cold brew, I added a little sugar. I usually don’t add sugar to my cold brews, but after testing multiple variations, the sugar in this one really makes a difference. Cut the watermelon into small pieces so there is more surface area or smash it a bit. Make sure to wash the lemon and mint. I didn’t bother removing the lemon peel since the sugar balanced out any bitterness. Put all the ingredients into a container and add cold or room temperature water. Refrigerate for 12-24 hours and strain out the solids. Because this recipe includes sugar, I recommend drinking this the same day you make it since the sugar increases bacterial growth. #icedtea #coldbrewtea #teasommelier #summerdrink #watermelon
