False. One joint account for mortgage and necessities, the rest of our money is our own!

when I got married the first time our joint account was a mess we decided to separate and it was the best decision for us lol 😆 😂 I don't see a problem with it the bills got paid and we were happy.

I will scream from the rooftop that there should be a joint account for shared bills. And then two separate accounts for each individual person. Never give up ur financial independence to anyone.

"No questions asked" might be a little simplified. obviously you can't spend it on things that would be considered harmful in some way to the family, relationship, or household, or will obviously make you a worse person, etc.

We only have 1 joint checking and 1 joint savings. Anything else seems so wild to me! If you can't trust them with y'alls $, then there is something deeper going on in the marriage.

I think it always brings up questions and uncertainty in the other spouse when there’s anything separate. You can agree upon structured but freedom in individual spending.

You do you, we’ll do what works for us. I’m SOO over people thinking there is only one way to do something.

that's literally what separate accounts are for. continue to have separate ones each, and have a joint one for family/combined stuff

I’ve done marriage both ways - my second has lasted much longer and is much healthier and our finances don’t touch. It’s not that we don’t trust each other, it’s that we do

Because if we had one account with all the money we would always be broke 😅. Two separate accounts, I may be broke but my husband's got us 🤣👌

we're both bad with money but good at handling our portions of things. Mortgage always gets paid but if our money was pooled together I'd spend stuff allocated to other stuff without realizing it.

Together we stand, divided we fall. Marriage is all in play. Want play it safe stay single. Allowance is shared only when ur budget allows.

We have a joint acct for all bills except cars which are paid out of our personal accounts. We also have a joint svings but multiple other savings bc all $$ in one place isn’t smart.

That’s how we do it, our normal accounts and a joint. We put like 75-50% of our check in there and keep the rest for ourself to do what we want
