I’m confused because even if they gain citizenship, it doesn’t give their parents citizenship so when their parents have to go back to their native country then obviously the child would go with them

As an European it always felt odd that if you are born in the US, you’d get automatic US citizenship, even if the parents are visiting or tranziting US.
