@krazybeautiful.2: Hi my TikTok family.. some of you may know that my son Jose has been in the hospital since December 31 of 2024 and was in the ICU for 14 days at Memorial Hospital .. my son was transferred last Tuesday to L.A to Keck Medicine of USC he needed more medical care.. my son has the flu and Covid and his lungs are severely damaged .. My son is on ECMO machine .. ECMO is a life support device that temporarily take over the heart or lungs in my sons case it’s his lungs .. the machine helps when the lungs are to sick or to weak to function on their own .. The oxygenator acts like an artificial lung 🫁 adding oxygen to the blood and removing carbon dioxide .. The oxygenated blood is pumped back into the patient’s body through another vein .. BENEFITS OF ECMO .. ECMO allows the heart or lungs to rest in this case it’s my son’s lungs which can help protect them from further damage .. I got a call yesterday from my son’s caseworker.. asking me if ECMO doesn’t work.. would I consider lungs transplant for my son if he needs it .. I said yes .. she said he’s not a candidate yet but that they wanna do the paperwork and blood work and all the tests ahead of time just in case he does need it .. they started physical therapy on my son yesterday .. the hospital bed that my son had wasn’t working for his physical therapy so they ordered a new bed for him.. and his bed came in today .. I called and asked how was his physical therapy today and they said he did good .. My son’s doctor did say it’s gonna be a long recovery ❤️‍🩹.. All I asked for family and friends is to keep my son in your prayers and thoughts for healing and peace for his health .. That he recovers safely and quickly .. So he can come home with his family.. please keep our family in your prayers and thoughts Thank you family and friends for all the love and support and prayers..
